After a terrible fall at a recent Mountain bike race, Jeandre Gautier will no longer be competing in the final Spur Mountain Bike School Series race as he has broke his collarbone and wrist.

On Saturday, August 15 Jeandre took part in the Wees Wakker Mountain bike race just as a training race for the final Spur Mountain Bike School Series race that would take place on Saturday, August 22.

Jeandre Gautier competed in the 19km race at the Wees Wakker Mountain Bike race on Saturday, August 15. Jeandre was far ahead of the field at the 5 km mark.

Jeandre was far ahead of the field and was riding on the single track when his pedal struck a rock and he was thrown off his bike.

He got up at the 10 km mark after his fall, he felt a bit of pain but he decided to push on until the finish line.

“I decided to carry on as it would take too long for help to get to me, so I just rode the last nine kilometres with a broken collarbone and wrist,” said Jeandre.

Overall he came in sixth place at the race in his category.
Jeandre will be off now for 12 weeks as his collarbone and wrist make a recovery.
Jeandre was fifth place overall and second in the u/15 age group of the Spur Mountain Bike School Series.

“He really worked hard for this position in this series, he is a little down about the fall but it comes with the sport,” said his father Patrice Gautier.
