Celtic close to signing Nyatama

Bloemfontein Celtic claim that midfielder Musa Nyatama is close to signing a permanent deal with the club, despite Mamelodi Sundowns keeping a tight grip on him.

The midfielder joined the Free State outfit at the start of the 2013/14 Absa Premiership season, where he swiftly became a regular in team by featuring in 26 league games and scoring twice.

Nyatama’s season with Celtic saw him enjoy regular football, something he wasn’t previously getting at Sundowns, but his impressive campaign has seen the Brazilians want him back.

Celtic have been in continuous negotiation with clubs over the future of their loanees, and after securing the services of Musa Bilankulu from Bidvest Wits, they are now keen to retain the 24-year-old Nyatama.

“Celtic has concluded talks with the reliable defender, Musa Bilankulu, while Musa Nyatama is also on the radar despite Mamelodi Sundowns’ reluctance to off-load the inspirational midfielder,” revealed the club’s website.

Phunya Sele Sele started pre-season training last Thursday, where new arrivals Bevan Fransman, Ruben Cloete and Sici Shelembe were all present.
