Le Clos aiming for a better day in the pool

Olympic gold medalist Chad le Clos will be looking to bounce back from an mediocre performance over the weekend when he returns to the pool for the second leg of the Mare Nostrum series in Canet, France on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old South African swimmer who is the reigning Olympic and world champion in the 200m butterfly, suffered a shock defeat to Japan’s Dayia Seto in his specialist event

In Canet, Le Clos will be adding the 200m backstroke to his list of four events which include the 100m, 200m butterfly and the 100m freestyle.

In the 100m freestyle he will line-up against Olympic gold medalist Nathan Adrian from the United States of America, while he faces Olympic silver medalist Ryosuke Irie of Japan in the 200m backstroke.

Le Clos was also unable to claim his second medal in the men’s 200m Individual Medley in Monte Carlo, as he finished in fourth place
