Disability parking

I have been a paraplegic for almost nine months now and I must admit, people make life a lot more challenging than necessary.

I went to a store at Saveways Centre and naturally I would want to use the disability parking, not because it’s closer to the door and I’m too lazy to wheel myself to the store, but simply because I need the space to climb in and out of the vehicle.

There are two disability parking spaces in front of PEP Stores and they were both occupied, however, a woman and her little girl were busy climbing out of one vehicle where I noticed no disabilities.

I then hooted and open my window to ask the woman to please move her vehicle, but she simply looked at me and turned and walked into the store.

I then took a photo of her vehicle, went and double parked so that no one can park next to me, went into the store, found the woman and told her that I took a photo of her vehicle and I will be placing it in the newspaper, where she simply just turned her face away and ignored me.

I really cannot believe that there are such cold hearted people out there and I hope something can be done about this.
