Questions about Licencing Department

Mr JJ Lubcker’s reply to the letter published in the 13 June 2014 edition did not address all the issues mentioned.

Some statements and questions for Mr JJ Lubcker to consider:

If the licensing office takes photographs of you on the premises.
Why do you still need to take your own photographs?  Why not use the ones taken on site?

The number of people queuing for photographs, eye tests, finger prints (3 functions) should be the same as the number of people who have to pay.
Why does it take so much longer to pay (1 function)?

EFT and credit card payment online for vehicle license disc renewal would be a simple effective system. A copy of the renewal form and a copy of the proof of payment could be e-mailed, faxed, posted or dropped off at the offices thus avoiding any queues. Online business uses this system all the time.
Why can this simple and effective system not be introduced?

Using a courier service or the post to send the vehicle license disc to the client would obviously incur an extra cost to the client but waiting for hours in a queue costs the client money anyway so the client should be given the option. Online business does this all the time.
Why can this simple and effective system not be introduced?

The one queue to collect numbers for different functions slow up the individual processes.
Why can these queues not be split according to function to speed up the individual processes?
