NOTICE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (EIA)
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS
PROPOSED UPGRADING FROM GRAVEL TO SURFACED ROAD, OF THE MIDDELBURG HOSPITAL ACCESS ROAD FROM THE JUNCTION OF ROAD R35 IN THE STEVE TSHWETE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY IN THE NKANGALA REGION OF MPUMALANGA PROVINCE
(1.5 KM).
Notice of a Public Participation Process is hereby given in terms of Chapter 6 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations published in Government Notice No. R.326 of April 2017, regarding the following Activity:
Proposed Activity: Proposed Project Scope Entails:
•The Design and Upgrading of a 1.5km Gravel Road to a Surfaced Road of the Middelburg Hospital Access Road from the Junction of Road R35;
•The Design of Storm Water Culvert;
•Ancillary Road Works, including the Installation of Concrete Lined or Stone Pitched Drains, the Installation of Road Safety Measures where required, Road Signs, Road Marking; Project Location: The Project is located along Road R35 within the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality in the Nkangala Region of Mpumalanga Province. The road starts at GPS Co- ordinates 2549`4.32″S, 2927`40.36″E and ends at GPS Co-ordinates 2549`0.94″S, 2927`13.97″E. The approximate length of the road to be upgraded is 1.5km and the road width is 25m. The Project traverses portion 346, 364, 365 & 371JS of the farm Middelburg Town and Townlands.
