Protest action is underway at Witbank Hospital, road users are advised to make use of alternative routes

All entrances to Witbank Hospital are closed and no medical services are provided due to an ongoing national strike.

Protesters are burning tyres in front of the gates of the hospital.

Home Affairs, Sassa and other public services workers have joined the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) protest in demand for better working conditions and salary increases.

The strike has been ongoing for the past five days.

Motorists are advised to make use of alternative routes.
