You are invited to attend the first Coal City Arts Festival

The opening of the festival will start at 18:00 on March.

Native Eye Arts Creatives will launch the first Coal City Arts Festival.

The festival will be launched at the Emalahleni Civic Theatre on Tuesday, March 7. The festival is a project aimed at developing the skills of local artists in the Nkangala District.

“The festival has a four-week development stage which dives deep into existing and non-existing works for theatre, dance, poetry and musicDevelopment is done by our creative team and the rest of the Coal City Arts Festival staff. The Coal City Arts Festival is investing more in the art that speaks to the people, sparking up a conversation about social issues that we face as a country and the world. As South Africa is facing this major issue of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), it is up to the artist to solve and address the issue and Coal City Arts Festival is the right platform for the artist-audience to me,” said John Letageng, an official of Native Eye Arts Creatives.

The opening of the festival will start at 18:00 on March 8.

Poetry from 17:00 to 19:00, paint and sip will be on March 9 at the Witbank Dam starting at 13:00 to 17:00.

Theatre and dance at the Civic Theatre on March 10 and 11 and a musical band and solo artist will be at Emrabulweni from 15:00 to 22:00 on March 12.
