Learners are up in arms because of suicide at school in Ga-Nala

Learners took to the streets after a fellow learner committed suicide in a classroom.

#JusticeforBafana is the hashtag going viral after a learner allegedly hanged himself at a local high school last week.

The Mpumalanga Department of Education visited Kriel High School on Friday, November 18 and said Bafana Sithole was found hanging in a storeroom inside a classroom after he wrote an exam on Thursday, November 17.

Mr Gerald Sambo, provincial education spokesperson said police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of the 17-year-old.

Sambo said counselling services were rendered to the family, educators and learners.

Residents took to social media calling for justice to be served.
