Police urge the community to come forward with any information regarding the two bodies found in a mine pit in Ogies this morning

The bodies were found after a truck accident in Ogies this morning, and the police have confirmed that the bodies were those of two unidentified men.

WITBANK NEWS reported on a truck accident in Ogies this morning that led to the discovery of two bodies.

 

According to the spokesperson for the office of the Provincial Commissioner in Mpumalanga, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the driver lost control and drove into a mine pit filled with water next to the road.

 

He said the police who were on the scene busy investigating the accident discovered the bodies of the two men floating in the pit.

 

He indicated that the driver, who was alone in the truck at the time of the accident, was transported to hospital.

 

“The bodies will be taken for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death whilst the next of kin are traced,” he said.

 

The police urge anyone with information regarding the two bodies to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP.

 

All information received will be treated confidentially, and callers may opt to remain anonymous.

 

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has reiterated her confidence in the team of investigators assigned to get to the bottom of what has actually transpired to the two deceased persons.
