Mamelodi Sundowns bounce back

The team tasted defeat at the hands of TUT at the weekend but returned to the soccer field to claim a kicking victory of 4-0 against the Thunderbirds.

JVW went into their Wednesday Wits Stadium game against TUT hoping to overtake Mamelodi Sundown but they were beaten 4-1 by a red-hot TUT side.

JVW are now seven points behind leaders Sundowns at the ladies log table.

It was also reported from the league that TUT who are now just four points behind Sundowns having played two more games than their Tshwane rivals are playing very well.

Sundowns, who incidentally tasted defeat at the hands of TUT at the weekend bounced back with a comfortable 4-0 over Thunderbirds.

In another surprise result from Wednesday’s matches, First Touch managed to secure an unlikely point at home against high-flying UWC.

The side from the Western Cape dropped down into fifth behind Bloem Celtic after the Free Staters beat Richmond 3-0 in De Aar.

Elsewhere, Ma-Indies ran off 2-0 winners against Tsunami Queens while UJ put a five past rock-bottom Golden Ladies.

Local side Coal City Wizards will play an away game against UWC on Sunday, October 2 at 15:00.
