Old, odd, and new cars on display on National ‘Braai’ Day

One of the more noticeable vehicles stood out not for its looks, but the story behind it.

The Witbank Classic Car Club pulled out all the stops this past weekend.

There were the most exotic vehicles and boats on display at a car show held at Klipfontein Pick n Pay on Saturday, September 24.

Every car had a unique story to be told, and it is clear why these vehicles are more than just beauty on four wheels, but a legacy.

The organiser, Julie Edwards, said that she would like to thank everybody who came out in support of the day and also would like to thank the owners of the cars who were part of the show.

One of the more noticeable vehicles stood out not for its looks, but the story behind it. Roger Hill who was there with his MG TC 1947 explained that the car has been in his family for generations.

“My father, John Hill, brought the car from Liverpool, England. He and my mother went on their honeymoon in this car and I took the car to my matric dance and so did my daughter,” said Roger.

The vehicle has been resprayed in 1978 and is still in the same pristine condition to this day. Roger inherited the vehicle in 2012.

One of the co-organisers of the day, Dane Fraser said that the day is in dedication of his late father, Trevor Fraser who recently passed away and also shared his love for cars.

Apart from the amazing vehicles that were on show, there were a couple of speed boats to be admired. If you have a passion for vehicles, then be sure not to miss out on their next event.
