With the hustle and bustle of all the month-end activities, road accidents are bound to happen. That was the case today in eMalahleni.
In a second accident today, two vehicles and a truck were involved in a collision at about noon on the old Middelburg Road (R555).
The driver of a heavily loaded truck allegedly lost control of the vehicle after which it swerved across the road and hit an oncoming bakkie with two people inside.
The driver of a third vehicle with three passengers could not break in time and it ended up inside a deep ditch next to the road.
No serious injuries were sustained by any of the people involved.
Earlier today five people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision.
The accident happened at about 06:45 this morning on Schonland Drive near the offramp in Ferrobank.
It is alleged that one of the drivers did not stop at the crossing and collided with the other vehicle.
One vehicle rolled and landed on its roof and the other ended up in a ditch next to the road.
Various medical services as well as the local fire department were on the scene.
