Food parcels for Masakhane

Emalahleni executive mayor Cllr Linah Malatjie who has partnered with the Al-Imdaad Foundation and the Witbank Muslim Jamaat in presenting food parcels said they were doing these out of love and compassion.

She thanked the organisation for coming on board in supporting and caring for the deserving families.

She said they were reaching out and showing love and they believe that will make a difference in the lives of the people of Masakhane.

Mr Moulana Mohammed Motala of the Al-Imdaad Foundation who partnered with eMalahleni Municipality in sponsoring the food parcels.

“Christmas is a time of giving and the actions of these organisations show what love is all about. Their actions speak louder than their words. Please enjoy your Christmas and have a prosperous New Year.”

Mr Farook Arbee secretary of the Witbank Muslim Jamaat said their Islamic believe taught them that in order to have mercy, they must give.

He said they need to show care, love and support to fellow men.

He said they have seen on television how other people suffer and that is why they extended their love and care to other people.

“We are humbled by the invitation from the executive mayor to join hands in doing programmes in the community. We have other programmes that we do in our community and that makes this day very special to us,” said Mr Arbee.

Mr Moulana Mohammed Motala of the Al-Imdaad Foundation said he flew all the way from Durban to be with the people of Masakhane because it meant a lot to him.

He said the elderly people have a special place in his heart because they struggled and fought for the freedom we are enjoying.

He indicated that they have partnered with Saveways.

“It is our duty as a fellow South Africans to offer our help where we can. Please pray for us so that we continue with our work. Have a blessed Christmas and a safe New Year,” added Mr Motala.
