A collision close to Ga-Nala left one person dead and the other in a critical condition.
Percival Motloung from Pervical Emergency Medical Services said the motor vehicle accident on R547 between Ga-Nala and Thubelihle near the cemetery occurred on Sunday, October 13 at around 19:10.
“The accident was between three vehicles, a bakkie, a private car, and a taxi. Upon arrival, the driver of the Peugeot 305 was already dead. A passenger from the Toyota Quantum was stabilised and transported to hospital by ER24, he sustained moderate injuries,” Motloung said.
Kriel Police Station communications liaison Constable Angel Makubu confirmed that the police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after the head-on collision.
“It is alleged that the Toyota Quantum was headed to eMalahleni and the Peugeot was driving toward Ga-Nala direction. There was a white Ford Ranger driver who alleged that his car was also bumped by the Peugeot car before it lost control and collided with the Toyota Quantum,” Makubu informed.
She also outlined that although the cause of the accident is still unknown, the police are still investigating.
Makubu passes this message to drivers, “Always be vigilant while driving since the cases of culpable homicide are increasing daily in Ga-Nala”.
