Germtee’s village tunes to mainstream dreams

Germtee’s cultural background and connection to nature authentically shapes his music.

With a voice that weaves together the threads of culture, community, and creativity, Germtee Tjajie is on a mission to make his mark. Born in eMalahleni, this talented artist is taking the music industry by storm.

Growing up in the vibrant village of Ga-Masemola, Sekhukhune, Germtee was surrounded by the rhythms of traditional music and the sounds of his parents’ tavern.

Little did he know that those early influences would shape his future as a versatile musician.

During his early years, Germtee developed a love for music. He was the self-appointed ‘song selector’ at his parents’ tavern when he was five years old, making sure the music never stopped.

This first encounter ignited a passion for music that lasted a lifetime.

Exploration and a desire to use lyrics to convey stories are the driving forces behind Germtee’s erratic creative process.

His music is honestly shaped by his cultural upbringing and relationship to nature.

Germtee is working on a new record, which will be released in March 2025, after releasing two EPs and an album. In contrast to his previous work, this upcoming strive seeks to evoke optimism and hope.
