CSC – fostering hope and adopting change

CSC needs your help to make helping children a reality.

In these trying times, non-profits like the Christian Social Council (CSC) of eMalahleni are struggling to stay afloat.

Rumours of funding cuts to children’s homes and group foster homes nationwide make community support crucial, now more than ever.

“It takes a village to raise a child,” goes the old saying.

Now’s the time for eMalahleni’s residents to step up for those who need it most – our children.

The CSC in eMalahleni, crowned ‘office of the year,’ shines thanks to dedicated social workers, house mothers, staff, and management, which was evident at their AGM held at Basileia Church on Thursday, September 26.

Despite limited resources, they miraculously care for many.

If you can’t foster or adopt, consider ‘adopting an asset’ instead.

Support a vehicle service, donate toilet paper for a year, or choose from numerous needs.

Find your perfect ‘match’ and lighten the load for this worthy charity.

Social workers face trauma and stress daily, using personal time and resources to host fund-raisers.

Let’s ease their burden by donating to alleviate case-load pressures, and support fundraisers to provide essential services or volunteer expertise or time.

“I take my hat off to all the social workers for always doing your utmost best. I would also like to thank all our sponsors, who help make what we do possible. In these difficult times, I am reminded of the sparrows. You never see a sparrow with a backpack preparing for tomorrow. They live by faith that God will provide for their needs.

We live by faith that tomorrow God will provide for those in need and provide us with the means to help those who cross our path. The CSC is like a taxi. There is always space for one more, and God will make provision for that,” commented CSC chairperson, Reverend Peet Boshoff.

Every contribution, big or small, counts. Join forces with CSC eMalahleni to ensure that children’s basic needs are met, provide emotional support and stability by giving community support, and thus empowering social workers to be able to focus more on care and the children.

Together, the community can make a difference.
