Three-day programme promises only good news

Convention series, ‘Declare the good news!’ hosted by Jehovah’s Witnesses, a three-day live event open to the public will deliver only good news.
The event is free to those who would like to attend and is expected to draw more than 4 500 attendees to eMalahleni, with a much-anticipated motivational programme to comfort and encourage the public.

The convention takes place in two sessions – in IsiZulu at Emalahleni Civic Centre and is expected to fuel the city’s economy with local spending at stores, hotels and restaurants.

“We are excited to work once again with city officials in eMalahleni to host our conventions,” said Jabulani Shezi, local spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses.

 

“These conventions are a highlight of the year for thousands of people who need to experience some positivity in their lives, and we are happy to enjoy the programme once again in this welcoming and hospitable City of Coal.”

The “Declare the Good News”! convention will present Bible-based videos, discourses and interviews on topics such as…
• Why do we need good news?
• Use the Good News to Defeat Bad News
• Why we don’t fear bad news

Friday: Consider evidence that the good news about Jesus in the Gospels is an accurate record of his life. Learn how these Bible accounts can benefit us today.

Saturday: What was prophesied about Jesus’ birth and childhood, and did those prophecies really come true?

Saturday spotlights a baptism of candidates from surrounding communities, while a two-part video feature will captivate the audience on Friday and Saturday.

Prior to each convention, local congregations will engage in a campaign to invite community members to this free event.

Sunday: In the Bible-based talk “Why we don’t fear bad news,” learn why millions today have reasons to feel secure and confident despite worsening world conditions.

Feature Drama: The Good News according to Jesus.
