Nkangala district communications manager killed in eMalahleni
David Masombuko was killed in a hijacking yesterday.
The news that the head of communication for the district municipality was killed during a hijacking is still met with shock
David Masombuka or Sombu as he was affectionally known was hijacked and killed yesterday.
His body was found in bushes near Bulpan Garage on Verena Road.
His white Toyota Avanza was found on Diedericks Street.
Police apprehended three Mozambique citizens in whose possession Sombu’s bank card, car keys, and other possessions were found.
They will appear in Witbank Magistrate Court tomorrow.
Sombu left Kwamhlamga to come to eMalahleni to attend an IDP meeting in Klarinet.
His family noticed out-of-the-ordinary transactions on his bank card and when they struggled to get hold of him they alerted the authorities.
