The spiritual intervention saw various religious dominions praying for the police members and sharing words of encouragement with them on Wednesday, August 28.
Pastor Cyril Shabalala shared that the spiritual crime prevention intervention was launched with the sole purpose of collaborating policing efforts with religion and prayer.
“It boiled down to the question of where police and pastors who are police receive a safe space that also aligns with our line of work. That is how our structure was formed and has now been elevated and is available across police stations in South Africa,” Pastor Shabalala informed.
Motivational speaker Mlungisi Zondi graced the presence of police, organisations, and church members with a heartfelt testimony.
“I am a rape survivor and an HIV activist, an ex-drug addict, ex-convict, and a survivor of GBV. I am here to encourage men and women gathered here today to love one another and to build healthy and strong families.
The life I lived in the past and with the people whom I shared it with, it was evident that our lives lacked a mother’s love, a father’s presence, and the word of God.
These aspects have taught me that they are the main contributors to a drug and violent-free country we so desperately need,” Mlungisi shared.
Pastor Jeremiah Zulu from Ethembeni Salvation of Hope prayed for the City of Coal; he specifically prayed for the N4 N12-related accidents. The pastors also wish to cover the police members with a prayer for protection, as their lives are risked daily in order to curb crime in the city.
