Successful joint operation nabs two suspects

Information from a whistleblower leads to the arrest of two suspects in MNS.

Members of the Middelburg Flying Squad, Witbank Crime Prevention, and a private security company in eMalahleni conducted an operation based on information received from a whistleblower.

This information led the team to MNS, where two suspects were arrested.

During the operation, on Thursday, September 12, the team found the two suspects in possession of an unlicensed firearm and seven rounds of live ammunition.

Additional items recovered from the shack included four cellphones, a gas heater, a brown jacket, a gold ring, and money believed to be acquired through criminal activities.

Preliminary investigations revealed that three cellphones and other items were stolen during a house robbery at Old Coronation. It is alleged that the suspects fired two shots during the incident, but no injuries were reported.

The suspects are expected to face charges related to possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and suspected stolen goods. Further investigations are underway.

This successful operation demonstrates the effective collaboration between law enforcement agencies and private security companies in combating crime.

The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity or information to the authorities.
