Zalala riders saddle up for success

Riders from Zalala Equestrian Centre came back with nine gold medals after the last Sanesa qualifier for the year.

The fourth Sanesa qualifier is done and dusted.

The Sanesa was held at Badplaas on July 21 and 22.

Riders from  Zalala Equestrian Centre came back with nine gold medals.

Leanke Fourie,  Charné Claassens,  Berthus Harmse, and Shannon Lewis secured first places.

Leanka on The Burgh’s Blue Crush came first in showing working riding level 3 and second in the A2 competition 60cm. On Hanzel Kalant she obtained two third places, one in the A2 competition class 50cm and one in the equitation 50cm.

Charné took first place in the training competition 70cm and training A2 competition 70cm on Scribbles’ back.

The pair also secured second place showing working riding level 1 and a third place in working hunter 60cm. On Saffier she took first place in training working hunter 70cm.

Shannon took first place in competition 1m and A2 competition 1m and placed in working hunter 80cm on Winter Night Saphire.

Berthus also rode two horses in the competition. On Sour Diesel, he took first place in the training competition 90cm, second in the training A2 competition, and placed in working hunter 80cm.

On Passionate Lad he took two first places; A2 competition 90 cm and equitation 90cm novice. The pair also took a third place in the competition 90cm.

Miandi Pretorius and Roxy Bay took second place, showing performance riding level 1.

The riders are looking forward to the national team selection.
