Help reunite a silent soul with his family

You can help unravel the mystery of this child's past and reunite him with his family.

In a heart-wrenching discovery, a guardian angel stumbled upon a young boy, estimated to be between 14 and 16 years old, wandering alone on the bridge turning off onto the N4 from OR Tambo Street.

She stopped and helped the boy on Friday, July 26. Despite his inability to speak or communicate, the boy’s desperate eyes screamed for help.

Thanks to the quick thinking and kindness of the guardian angel, the boy was rescued from the streets and taken into a safe haven. But now, authorities are racing against time to unravel the mystery of his past and reunite him with his family.

With no words to express his thoughts, no voice to call out for help, and no way to write his name or where he’s from this young boy’s life has been a silent struggle. According to sources who do outreaches with homeless people, it is believed that he may have been on the streets for an agonizing three years. His story is a testament to resilience and hope.

Witbank SAPS and his dedicated social worker, Lutendo Mandiwana are pleading for the community’s assistance in finding the boy’s family. Every detail, no matter how small, could be the key to unlocking his past and reuniting him with loved ones.

“Share this story far and wide, and let’s work together to bring this boy’s family back together,” Lutendo said.
