Police curb poverty and social ills

Food parcels and warm hoodies were handed to 40 elderly people.

Vosman police station members and management led by the Station Commander Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu, embarked on their 67-minute Mandela Day celebration.

The event occurred at the police station where 40 elderly people were pampered with warm hoodies, scarves, and food parcels.

Captain Elizabeth Hlathi said, “The procession was entertained by the Esethu group who performed cultural music kind of games for the elderly”.

During the process of the event, Ndlovu mentioned, “As Vosman Police Station, we are grateful to participate in the Mandela Day celebration and more so that social partners in the form of stakeholders folded up their sleeves and proved that together we can bring a change in the lives of other people who cannot fend for themselves”.

On Thursday 18 July Jafta Mahlangu also shared a message of support and explained, when Samancor partnered with police in giving the little that they could to the elderly it made him happy.

All speakers showed jubilation spirit in attending the event where the most vulnerable sector of the community is elderly people who benefited something during the Mandela Day celebration.
