Well-known bowler passes away

Phyllis had a front-row seat in life. She embraced every moment with joy.

The news that Phyllis Scruton passed away, left the community covered in sadness.

Messages of condolences and heartfelt sympathy are streaming in for Phyllis who was a huge part of the community.

Phyllis was born and bred in eMalahleni, well known for her bowling skills, a member of the Woman’s Agricultural Union, Witbank Flower Club, and the Moths Club.

She was 76 when she passed away on July 21 after a lengthy sickbed.

She leaves behind her daughter, Nicola Blake, her son, Anthony Baker, a stepson, Gavin Scruton, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at the Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk Witbank-Suid in Sturdee Avenue at 11:00 on Friday, July 26.
There will be a live streaming available for those who cannot attend.
