The Ridge furbish newly built children’s home in Kromdraai

Representatives got busy as they prepped the shelter for the children as part of their 67 minutes for Nelson Mandela Day on Thursday, July 18.

The Ridge Casino Hotel and Entertainment took time to make a positive impact in their communities on Nelson Mandela Day.

Representatives of the casino visited the new Giant Saints Organisation in Kromdraai, KwaGuqa, and played their 67 minutes furbishing the home after they built a shelter for the children.

Founder of the organisation, Katty Nsiyare, wished to thank The Ridge for donating toys that will help keep the children entertained, “Thank you to the casino for building and painting our shelter and for going out of their way to spend their 67 minutes with us. We thank the late Tata Nelson Mandela for this day because if he was not born on this day, none of this goodwill would have been made possible.”

Marketing manager at the casino, Lunga Nkonyeni, shared that the essence of giving back to the community is to make a positive impact and put on a smile to all, especially the children who are in need.

“Thank you to the Giant Saints Home for the warm welcome and for allowing us to spend the day with the children; we hope to do more in the future,” Lunga assured.

On Thursday, July 18, Katty ended by mentioning that the home is still in need of a security fence and more rooms for the children.
