KrielSaders clinched a historic victory in the Mayors’ League 2024, marking their triumph with an unbeaten record throughout the season.
Estiaan Pretorius from KrielSaders said, “The first team to win this Mayors’ League with a perfect record.”
This comes after their final matches of the league at Embalenhle Rugby Club on Saturday, July 6, where the second team set the tone earlier in the day with a commanding 42-0 win over Embalenhle. The Saders’ first team rose to the occasion, securing a remarkable 49-0 victory against Embalenhle.
Reflecting on the team’s stellar performance, Estiaan expressed profound pride and admiration for the squad’s journey and said, “I am extremely proud of our team. It took us four years to get here, and throughout the season, the team displayed immense resilience and dedication.”
He further highlighted the promising future of the second team, emphasising their potential to lead the club forward in the coming years.
“We will go into a semi-final for Mpumalanga winners against Hazyview. Even though we won the league, all of our focus is on being the best in Mpumalanga,” he concluded.
