Collision reported on the R545 again

The design of roads can have a considerable impact on accidents. The 545 is a very narrow road and the crossing at the R545 is dangerous.

Five people were hospitalised in a crash between a Mini Copper and a minibus taxi on the R545.

According to Percival Motloung from Percival Emergency Medical Services, the motor vehicle accident was between Ga-Nala and Rietspruit on Friday, June 28.

“Passengers traveling in the taxi suffered from minor injuries,” Motloung explained.

He also reported that a fleet of five minibus taxis were transporting students from Pretoria to Jozini in KwaZulu-Natal when the accident occurred.

A Mini Cooper collided with a minibus taxi on the R545.

“The taxi drivers asked for permission from Mpumalanga Emergency Medical Services, that the paramedics should allow them to continue with their journey, and they will take the injured students to Ermelo hospital,” Motloung outlined.

He also assured that all relevant role players were present at the scene of another accident on the R545 near the Kinross T-junction.

“At around 3:00 there was a car that lost control and there were no injuries,” Motloung added.
