Police confirm no human body in river, instead found chicken wrapped in dress

Witbank Police have confirmed what looked like a human body dumped in Spookspruit River on the R555 was a dress, chicken and money.
Authorities responded to a disturbing discovery this morning (July 2) near the Old Middelburg Road, where a man initially feared a human body had been dumped in a river.
The man noticed what appeared to be clothing on Monday, July 1, and promptly alerted the police.
Upon investigation, Captain Eddie Hall confirmed that the object in question was not a human body.
“It was a dress with a chicken and money that was dumped in the dam,” Hall said.
