Phola Police advocate against anti-bullying

Phola Police visited Sibongindawo Primary School to talk about children’s rights,

Phola Police in conjunction with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and Foundation for Victims of Crime (FOVOC) recently visited the Sibongindawo Primary School.

Sergeant Petros Ntuli, communications official at the station shared that the purpose of the visit was to educate learners about bullying, children’s rights, and crime.

He shared that the learners at the school were educated by the likes of Mr Joseph Ntimba from the CPF on Thursday, June 13.

“He encouraged learners to report any form of abuse and bullying, and Miss Nomsa Liau from Victim Friendly Support emphasised the importance of children’s rights,” Ntuli said.

FOVOC social workers Jabulani Shezi and Tshepiso Ramphamudi presented to the learners the services they render and shared insight about GBV and domestic violence and how the victims can be assisted.

“The event was successful and fruitful for us and most importantly for the learners. They also encouraged learners to report bullying to teachers,” Ntuli ended.
