Man narrowly escapes death in brazen shooting incident

The motive for the shooting is unknown, and the suspects remain at large

A chilling attempted murder has left Mduduzi Sibuyi (34) shaken and fearing for his life.

On Saturday, June 1, at approximately 18:55, Sibuyi was driving on OR Tambo Road with four passengers when a white Toyota bakkie with spotlights allegedly began tailing him.

In a desperate attempt to avoid the strange vehicle, Sibuyi made a U-turn on Grey Street. Still, the occupants opened fire, damaging the engine and injuring Sibuyi and one of the passengers.

The attackers fled the scene, leaving Sibuyi to take his injured passenger to Witbank Hospital. The motive for the shooting is unknown, and the suspects remain at large.

Sibuyi’s harrowing ordeal has left him traumatised, and he is struggling to come to terms with the fact that he has no known enemies.

“I am just an ordinary person; I do not understand why someone would want to harm me,” said Sibuyi.

This is still an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information should phone the police.
