Certain areas in and around eMalahleni are still without water

And still there is no water for residents in and around eMalahleni.

The Emalahleni Local Municipality informed that the water supply has been restored in some of the affected areas.

Today(June 5), the NuWater package plant (point S) and the main water treatment plant have been back in production since 20:00 last night.
The main package plant is also back in full production.

Pumping to the point C reservoir started at 21:00 last night.

Point S is back in production, and point C tower will automatically start supplying immediately as it reaches the starting mark.

All areas supplied by point B tower are not affected because of the potable water supply by Thungela mine, areas not affected by the ongoing water outages are: Witbank CBD, Witbank Ext 1 to Ext 12, Die Heuwel Ext 8, portion of Die Heuwel Proper and Saveways Crescent Shopping Centre.

According to the municipality, it is unfortunate that other areas are still affected due to the low levels of the feeder reservoirs.

The maintenance work will continue to be implemented as required to improve the water system during the low season.
