eMalahleni residents urged to be cautious with their vehicles

Vehicle theft on the increase in eMalahleni.

Residents are urged by SACCW around the city of coal to please ensure any vehicles, trailers, caravans, motorbikes, quad bikes, and jet skis are parked in safe places, especially at night.

Park them in garages, behind locked gates, or in well-lit secured parking areas.

A bag containing tools specially designed for vehicle and tyre theft was recovered during a joint operation between security companies, SAPS, and the SACCW.

These suspects are notoriously difficult to apprehend, as they have in-depth knowledge of the areas that they target, and they meticulously map out their escape routes to avoid capture.

Residents are urged to connect alarm systems to armed response companies and to install beams in areas where vehicles are kept, if possible.

Security companies, SAPS, and the SACCW are working together in formulating a game plan to outsmart these criminals and to cut off their escape routes after careful analysis of their modus operandi and the way they think.

Fighting crime is not always easy, as keeping a step ahead of the criminals can be challenging.

Play your part in keeping your belongings safe, as well as report any suspicious individuals or activities to your local SACCW, SAPS, or security company.

“eMalahleni is a crime hotspot and these criminals are working hard to keep it that way. We are working harder to capture these criminals and to keep our communities safe,” said Frik van Dyk, a member of the SACCW in eMalahleni.
