Kasi Football League Foundation, alongside Umlilo Wevangeli and the Emalahleni Local Municipality, came together to host the third Linah Malatji tournament.
This event, held in honour of the late mayor, celebrated her profound love for sports and coincided with Human Rights Day.
The lively environment at Ackerville Stadium on Thursday, March 21, drew people from all walks of life, with the day’s activities catering to a wide range of interests.
There was plenty for everyone to engage in and enjoy, including football, netball, a huge stroll, and a 5km race.
Gracing the event was Executive Mayor Clr Leah Mabuza, who expressed gratitude to the community members for their enthusiastic participation in commemorating the late Clr Malatjie.
Mabuza underscored the importance of youth involvement in sports, emphasising its role in nurturing talent and channelling energy towards positive outlets that contribute to mental and physical well-being.
