Minister Mantashe’s outreach programme brings much-needed donations to Springvalley Primary School

Springvalley Primary School receives vital donations amidst Minister Mantashe’s educational initiative.

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe, and key provincial and municipal officials and companies initiated a transformative school outreach programme at Springvalley Primary School.

The endeavour, aimed at bolstering educational resources and facilities on Friday, March 15, is poised to uplift both the learning experience and the overall well-being of learners.

Upon visiting the school, concerns about the dilapidated state of the infrastructure were palpable. “When I entered the school, I saw that the school is in a bad state; the building is collapsing, and there is no lighting,” said the minister, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.

The contributions pledged include a range of essentials such as JoJo tanks and gardening tools, school bags, uniforms, sanitary towels, school shoes, study materials, and gas stoves.

The minister added, “The companies must not do the contributions on our invitation; only they must begin to establish relations with these situations.”

The school principal, Ms Carol Khoza, extended her gratitude, saying, “I would love to thank the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe, and companies for their commitments and donations. Our school is set to undergo significant improvements, including access to water, electricity, proper fencing, and enhanced learning resources.”
