Nkangala farmers receive title deeds amid Pre-Imbizo

Farm dwellers from the Nkangala District received their title deeds

Five local farming families from the Nkangala District received title deeds from the Department of Agriculture.

Minister Thoko Didiza graced Emalahleni Local Municipality on Monday, March 4 as part of the pre-imbizo.

During the visit the minister monitored the progress at numerous farms and later held a stakeholder engagement session at the Ridge Casino.

Families honoured with title deeds described the moment as life-changing and long overdue.

Annie Dladla said that she could not contain her excitement after receiving her title deed.

“I have been residing at the farm since the year 1995. Without the title deed I was suffering when it came to making a living, but today I have been allowed to properly execute my dreams. I will be teaching other women how to farm and make a living from planting and selling crops and vegetables,” Annie shared.

The minister’s visit is courtesy of the presidential Imbizo that will be hosted by the Republic of South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 7 at SY Mthimunye Stadium in Lynnville.
