Ward 16 Committee raises hope with seed initiative

Ward 16’s initiative put seeds of hope in every backyard.

Ward 16’s committee and volunteers are sowing the seeds of change by distributing vegetable seeds and seedlings to communal and individual farmers.

With two communal groups and 17 individual farmers already benefiting, the committee aims to provide support during every planting season and harvest season, promoting agribusiness as an essential community value.

Clr Sizwe Buthelezi, from Ward 16, said, “The purpose of the initiative is to assist in the plight of food security in our communities and ultimately introduce ‘agribusiness’ as an added value chain among our communities.”
