How lucky can you get to capture nature’s fury on your cellphone, especially if it is a lightning bolt?

Dakota Cartucho (14) was watching the rain, and on January 29 when she ‘accidentally’ captured nature performing at her best.

A lightning bolt struck a Palm tree in the Cartucho’s yard in Buckingham Estate, and Dakota captured the spectacular sighting.

You can hear a loud bang and then see the tree light up.

Dakota is the head girl at Robert Carruthers School.

“It was amazing,” Dakota said when she realised what she had captured.
