Managing diabetes is not rocket science

In line with the WHO initiative, Rubicon Medical Centre will host a national diabetes awareness event on November 16 from 10:00 to 15:00.

The World Health Organisation  (WHO) has earmarked November 14 as World Diabetes Day.
According to the WHO, this awareness campaign provides an opportunity to raise awareness of diabetes as a global public health issue and what needs to be done, collectively and individually, for better prevention, diagnosis, and management of the condition.
This year’s theme, ‘access to diabetes education’, underpins the larger multi-year theme of ‘access to care’.
Rubicon Medical Centre invite the public to pop around to the Köhler Auto Chery showroom to get free blood glucose, lipogram, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests.
They also offer HbA1c tests to assist in managing diabetes.
The HbA1c test is a blood test that is used to test the average sugar levels over three months. As a bonus, you can learn about diabetes.
