It is time for the Santa Shoebox project

In 17 years, your generosity has reached 1 152 587 children.

The year is gone and before we realise it, December will be knocking on the door.

Every year Ladies Circle 26 collects shoeboxes filled with personalised gifts of essential items and treats for underprivileged children.

This is part of the bigger initiative whereby the Santa Shoebox project collects and distributes for underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia.

In 17 years, your generosity has reached 1 152 587 children.

โ€œYou are making a difference,โ€ Amy Gallagher, local organiser of the project said.

What to put in the shoebox?

Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, washcloth, an outfit of clothing, educational supplies, sweets, and a toy.

PEP Stores is our one-stop shop for all your needs.

Please remember that all items must be new and age-appropriate.

Put all liquids, like cosmetics or blow bubbles, into a ziplock bag, so that the contents cannot leak out and spoil the shoebox.

Also, include extra batteries with battery-operated toys or choose a non-battery-operated alternative.

Then comes the fun part, wrap the shoebox.

Be creative and instead of using conventional wrapping paper, consider painting the box, or decorating it with drawings, cut-outs, and stickers. If you do choose to wrap the box, please make sure to wrap the lid separately.

You can drop your shoebox off at Cambridge Academy on November 3 between 13:00 and 17:00 or November 4 between 09:00 and 12:30.

For more information, you can phone Amy at: 082 494 3002.
