Unlocking Minds inspires action against GBV

Unlocking Minds lights up Emrabulweni Park to confront Gender-Based Violence: A day of Unity, education, and empowerment.

Unlocking Minds inspires action against GBV Unlocking Minds, a local Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) dedicated to eradicating Gender-Based Violence (GBV), hosted a stirring campaign event that left attendees inspired and ready for action.

‘What’s the expected man, women and children behaviour (role) in our society’ was the theme of the day at Emrabulweni Park on Saturday, September 23.

From the moment attendees entered the park, they were greeted by a sea of colourful banners, powerful slogans, and uplifting messages, all dedicated to breaking the chains that bind victims of GBV.

Unlocking Minds spared no effort in assembling a line-up of influential speakers and activists who shared their journeys and insights.

Their words resonated deeply with the audience, igniting a passion for change and a renewed determination to put an end to GBV.

The organisation’s chairperson, Thokozani Sithebe stated, “Our collective voices are powerful. It’s time to break the silence and shatter the chains of GBV.

Together we can create a world where everyone can live without fear’’.

Attendees left the event with a sense of empowerment, armed with knowledge, and a commitment to raise awareness and support survivors.

One participant, Sarah Mabena, remarked, “This event was a game-changer.

It’s not just about raising awareness; it’s about taking action and being a part of the solution. I’m leaving here today with a renewed sense of purpose”.

Thokozani closed the event with a poignant quote, “Today, we made a stand against GBV.

Let’s take this momentum and turn it into action. Together, we can break the chains that bind our society.”
