Donations brings hope to centre

A washing machine and two couches were amongst the many donations the centre received.

Through donations from members of the Anglican Church in KwaGuqa, a home for the less fortunate was blessed.

On Thursday, September 21 members of the congregation joined the staff and residents of the Ethembeni Children’s Haven in Empumelelweni.

“We are donating food, toiletries, clothes, a washing machine and couches for the needy,” said Sanele Mtsuki from the Anglican Church.

Mtsuku also said that they are representing the church and the ‘Mothers Union’ which is one of many extensions of the church.

The church boasts 400 members and took two months to gather the current donation.
Pastor Jeremiah Zulu, representing the centre and community developer, could not contain his gratitude towards the Anglican Church members for the much-needed donations.

“The Anglican Church has come and blessed us with food and furniture. We ask the community and businesses to come and support the cause as we need your support and partnership.

We receive these gifts with thanksgiving. May the Lord bless the Anglican Church for the good work they have done today for our centre. May the Lord richly return it to the church a hundredfold,” said Pastor Zulu.

Pic Residents sang throughout the donation process to give thanks to the Anglican Church.

The centre currently houses and rehabilitates residents struggling with substance abuse.

It is a centre where those in need can find help and guidance.

“We just want to say thanks to the ladies of the Anglican Church for coming through and blessing us with these donations.

And also to the WITBANK NEWS for documenting the great work Pastor Zulu has done for us here as gents who are undergoing the serious illness of addiction,” concluded Sibusiso Ramakau, currently a student at the centre.
