Witbank Citylads qualify for Nedbank Cup preliminary round

Citylads played well and offered their opponents no space to make their moves in attack.

Witbank Citylads showed that they are ready to start the season with a bang after going to the next round of the Nedbank Cup preliminary round.

Citylads played and beat Kruger United and then played and beat The Bees in the other match.

Citylads after playing several pre-season tournaments showed that they are a well-oiled machine and ready for the start of the new season.

Witbank Citylads on the move during one of their attacks against Kruger United played on Saturday, September 23 at Lynnville Stadium on Saturday.

The Naughty Blues made it easy for themselves as they brushed aside Kruger United and later beat The Bees from Nkomazi.

Citylads’ Sanele Magwaza controlled the middle of the field and always dictated when to defend and when to attack.

From the onset, Citylads’ Bhanayi Nasiphi tried with a shot at goal, but it was saved by Kruger goalkeeper Bonginkosi Nkosi.

Kruger’s Sibusiso Mbonani had a long drive and was saved by Citylads’ goalkeeper Mtho Zulu.

Like a mean machine, Citylads led by Sipha Hlubi, Bhanayi and Bobi Nhlapho played well to make things happen for Citylads.

After that, they had a break attack, but Citylad’s defence was at hand to stop the move.

Both teams made some substitutes, but it was Citylads all the way who dictated terms and controlled the match.

Kruger Fumani Mathabele missed with a ground shot towards the end of the match.

Citylads played well and offered their opponents no space to make their moves in attack, and they defended well.

The only goal of the match was enough for Citylads to play in the next round.
