Members of Siyakhuthaza Environment Group embarked on a cleaning campaign at Vosman.
The Sinqobile Greening Project by members of Siyakhuthaza Environment Group was done over two days and started on Friday, September 8 whereby trees were planted and a cleaning-up was held at two pre-schools.
The first stop was at Ebenezer Early Learning Centre, where a tree was planted and clean-up at the centre was done.
The second pre-school to be visited was the Lethukuthula Pre-School where a tree was planted as well and a clean-up at the school.
On the following day, Saturday, September 9 the members planted four trees along the Mathews Phosa Road leading to the KG Mall.
Trees were also planted inside Vosman on Mathew Phosa Street.
“We would urge community members of Vosman to please protect and nurture the trees, as they are going to benefit from them. We are still going to plant more trees in the area and ask the community members to please support us.
Matters of the environment are very important, and we should all join hands in protecting our environment,” said Themba Mahlangu of Siyakhuthaza Environment Group.
The trees that were planted include Combretum Erythroughphylum, Acacia Karoo, and Searsia Lancea.
