Local Women’s Agricultural Union members win at Mpumalanga competition

The second winner was Frances Theron of the Magnolia branch.

Women’s Agricultural Union Mpumalanga (WAU) hosted the annual competition with members of branches all over the province participating in.

The ladies took part in various sections which included articles among others: machine work, embroidery sewing machine, embroidery, hand embroidery, and hand knitting.

MC Oosthuizen, Rina Breedt, Marcelle van Vuuren, Hendriët Prinsloo, and Judith Cilliers.

There were a total of 656 articles in the region that were made by 290 ladies, only 106 articles went through to the Congress, and the Carpe Diem region did very well in the competition.

The second winner was Frances Theron of Magnolia branch, Carpe Diem (Witbank) with a total of 456 articles.

The overall winner is  Hendriët Prinsloo of the Azaria branch, Carpe Diem (Witbank).

She had a total score of 486 and six articles went through.

Azaria branch expressed that it was a great honour to have her as part of their branch.

Hendriët also received a trophy on Thursday, August 3, that was handed over to her by the WAU of Mpumalanga president, Alna Kapp.
