Trigger-happy now not so happy

Trigger-happy man gets arrested - Investigation underway to determine the competency of the owner and whether he is suitable to own a firearm.

Police urge residents to take caution when carrying a licensed firearm in public.

One resident’s recent conduct has landed him in hot water.

On August 13 in the early morning hours, police on duty were called to Extention 16 when reports came through of repeated gunfire being heard by the surrounding community.

On arrival, police could see residents running from the scene and screaming out of fear of being shot.

Police approached a vehicle said to be where the gunshots came from and questioned the suspect.

Police discovered that the male was seemingly intoxicated and fired a shot in the air for no apparent reason.

The suspect also did not have a valid gun license but had proof of competency.

The man was arrested for negligent handling of a firearm.

Investigations are underway to determine the competency of the gun owner and whether he is suitable to own a firearm.
