Asinavalo FC are top eight soccer champions

Honouring the Zenzele Funeral Home through sports in Lynnvile Stadium for all of their past support, including soccer and netball competitions, as well as other community projects and programmes.

The Zenzele Funeral Home Soccer and Netball Tournament ended with Asinavalo FC crowned the champions in soccer.

The tournament was held at the Lynnville Stadium on Women’s Day, August 9.

The tournament was held to honour Zenzele Funeral Home for all the support they made in the past, supporting soccer and netball tournaments and other community projects and programmes.

The soccer final was between NSSD FC and Asinavalo FC after the two teams managed to beat their opponents to reach the finals.

Both teams started on high creating scoring chances looking for an early lead and both teams put the offside trap to good effect.

The Zenzele Funeral Home Soccer and Netball tournament soccer champions celebrated after being crowned the soccer champions.

Asinavalo was the first to test the NSSD goalkeeper with a shot that was saved.

After that, Asinavalo controlled the game trying to attack and were nearly awarded when a shot went over the crossbar.

Asinavalo were forced to make a substitute when one of their players was injured just a few minutes after the start of the match.

NSSD had a corner-kick and the ball just sailed out.

NSSD with good build-ups were on the offence trying to break the deadlock with a goal, but Asinavalo defence was very strong.

An Asinavalo striker tried to score with a shot, but it went over the crossbar.

Asinavalo scored the goal with a high ball beating the NSSD goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

The team broke for half-time with Asinavalo leading 1-0.

In the second half, NSSD played well, but Asinavalo did not give them any chance as they increased the score to make it 2-0, scoring after a corner kick. Both teams made substitutes and NSSD scored their consolation goal after they were awarded a penalty toward the end of the match to make the final score 2-1.
