Royalty visits Witbank Prison

The purpose of the visit was to show love, and support as well as to motivate the inmates, especially the juveniles.

Inkosi Nsizwa Mahlangu of Hlalanikahle with an entourage which includes Inkosi Sipho Mahlangu of SoGutjhe visited Witbank Prison.

 

The visit took place on Thursday, July 27. The purpose of the visit was to show love and support, as well as to motivate the inmates, especially the juveniles.

Ms Finah Mokgaetsi Madihlaba of One Football Foundation in her message of support said that the inmates must now focus on the programmes offered at the prison so that they can have a second chance in life, as all is not lost.

She told them to take a bold decision today to have a fresh start.

 

 “It is not over yet, you have all the time to think about your future while inside, and correct your mistakes. Start talking to your officers, and get advice; we are always available to advise you. Support each other, start groups and prepare for life after prison. Build brotherhood and pray, God will intervene; it’s not over until God says so. This is not your home, your parents, friends and us need you outside,” said Madihlaba.

 

Thando Masango of Kakaramba Foundation told the inmates that he was once a drug addict, but changed his life for the better.

He told them to give each other hugs to show love and support.

Inkosi Mahlangu said he had other engagements but had to honour the invite as he valued them highly and to him, they are like his children. He informs them that it is important to come and give support so that they can correct their mistakes.

He further encouraged them to get skilled for a better future.

 

Mahlangu pointed out that even though they are in prison, they’re still sons and brothers.

 

 “You made mistakes in the past; some of you are here because of wrong friends, some because of wrong choices. Adopt the programmes provided to you by the state. Get up; it’s not too late to start a new life. We are here to help you to focus and start on a clean slate,” remarked Mahlangu.

 

Other speakers also motivated the inmates.
