Beauty queens do their part for charity on Mandela Day
Jabez House received numerous donations for Mandela Day.
Mrs Mpumalanga Charity Highveld 2023 Leatitia Fouché and Provincial Mpumalanga MS first runner-up Angie Wells spent their 67 minutes at Jabez House.
In efforts to make a difference and commemorate Nelson Mandela Day the two teamed up and managed to donate 126 bottles filled with dry soup mix to create jars of hope.
Angie said that the Jar of Hope will be able to feed a family of four, “If anyone is looking to make a difference and help the less fortunate, please start at Jabez House. You can donate any items from clothing, dried foods, and fresh groceries. Thank you to all our sponsors for making this Mandela Day possible for us,” Angie said.
Odette Rossouw, manager of Jabez Food Bank expressed her gratitude to everybody who participated in Mandela Day at Jabez Food Bank and made a difference in underprivileged people’s lives.
“You walked into people’s lives that you have never met and gave without expecting anything back. You paid it forward by giving,” Odette expressed.
Odette also mentioned that the team from Touch of Gold Jewelers, Highveld Mall donated cupcakes, and they teamed up with AP Resources from Smokey Mountain and served vegetable soup and vetkoek to the homeless at Jabez House.
