Man shot and killed during a hijacking in KwaGuqa earlier this week

A carjacking turned deadly when the victim, identified as Walter Masemola, was shot and killed.

The KwaGuqa community is left shocked and on edge after a carjacking incident turned fatal, resulting in the murder of a 43-year-old man. 

As the investigation unfolds, the Vosman Police are urging residents to come forward with any information that may help identify and apprehend the dangerous suspect(s) involved.

The incident happened on Monday, July 17, in Extension 11.

According to reports, the Vosman Police were alerted to the carjacking incident at approximately 20:00.

Upon arrival at the scene, they were informed by concerned community members that the victim had been rushed to hospital due to gunshot injuries sustained during the carjacking.

The officers subsequently proceeded to the hospital, where they were shown the lifeless body of Walter Masemola, who had succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.

The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Investigations revealed that the carjacking took place when a white Toyota GD6 Club Cab with registration number KRJ 422 MP, prominently displaying ‘Richie Crane Hire’ on its sides, was forcefully taken.

Unfortunately, no arrests have been made thus far in connection with this violent crime.
